Opinions Please?

A short post this week inspired by someone asking on Twitter if a photographer should limit the amount of processing they do in Photoshop. I don't want to get int that argument as it leads to madness, hypertension and more grey hair. So I've decided to ask opinions on one the most processed images of my eldest daughter. Do you think the processing adds to this image or detracts (I'm moderating comments so frothing at the mouth, nuts should keep their comments to themselves!). I've included an original to compare.

Asides

  • Had a day away from the office yesterday to go to the annual extravaganza of photographic kit that is Focus On Imaging 2010. As is the norm at these events there was the usual collection of the good, bad & ugly. The big DSLR boys were well represented, Canon seemed to have a bigger presence than Nikon but maybe they are trying to regain some of the ground lost to the D3S. Both Leaf and Phase One were there to represent the medium format brigade but no Hassleblad which was a real shame as they have some new kit to show (still no 6x6 though, boo hiss). My lab of choice Loxley were well represented and some new exciting wedding and portrait albums that I will have to investigate further. Back to the grindstone today with some wedding enquiries to chase up. #
